Grimsby Town Football Club were represented by Toll Bar Academy in the North area finals of the EFL Utilita U13s Girls Cup this afternoon in Chesterfield.
The Utilita Girls Cup is a sister competition of the Utilita Kids Cup ran by the EFL and is one of the biggest football competitions for secondary schools in the country.
The competition is designed to create stronger, healthier and more active communities and is a great opportunity for Club Charity Organisations like us to build and develop links with schools in the local community.
Grimsby Town Foundation hosted the local compeition at Clee Fields in November, in which Toll Bar Academy emerged winners.
The girls represented Grimsby Town with pride, showcasing excellent performances against Chesterfield and Rotherham.
On the importance of these competitions, Paul Davies of Grimsby Town Foundation said, “Competitions like the Utilita Cup are so important, as it allows young aspiring female footballers to play football in a competitive setting.”
“The girls did themselves, their school, and the Town very proud and we thank them for representing Grimsby Town Football Club.”
