Easter Football Camp Success

We are delighted to report that our Easter football camps have yet again been a major success this year. Over three days, our dedicated coaches delivered fun-filled football-related activities to 130 children in Grimsby and Louth. From skills challenges to small-sided games and shooting practice, all the children involved got to show our coaches their incredible talent.

A massive thank you goes to Grimsby Town first team players Gavan Holohan, Douglas Tharme and Charles Vernam for making guest appearances across both venues and handing out trophies to the winners of our skills challenges, players player and coaches player awards. The children thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the players they admire and look up to and who many watch week in week out from their seats at Blundell Park.

With our players’ player award, it’s a chance for the participants to vote for those who have been a role model, played fairly and lead by example with their behaviour, and of course who have played really well throughout the week.

We also ran our first ever three-day girls camp in Grimsby, in which we had over 40 girls attend; the most attended girls course across North East Lincolnshire. After the success of the one-day course back in February half-term, we knew the demand was there and we were certainly not disappointed with how it turned out. Grimsby Town Women first team player Lily Jacklin dedicated her time to come and help out across the three days and acted as a brilliant role model to all the girls who attended.

Keep an eye out on our social media for information on the postponed goalkeeper courses and for details on how to sign up to our future courses.
