Warm Space Initiative

The Grimsby Town Foundation’s ‘Warm Space’ initiative continues to help people in our community who need help during the winter months.

In December, we announced that Grimsby Town Foundation partnered with local community interest company ‘We Are Fish’ and the Household Support Fund’ to deliver more Warm space events at Blundell Park.

On a Monday evening, until Monday 4th March, the Pro-Ampac Lounge at Blundell Park plays host to a welcoming and safe haven for people of all ages, who live within walking distance of the football ground, to come and socialise, play games, enjoy a warm meal and complete homework or even just relax in a warm environment. It also allows families to switch off their heating at home and save money.

The Household support fund is council-ran and is aimed at families/individuals who struggle to pay for essentials, such as food, heating, energy and water bills. By partnering with the Grimsby Town Foundation, we have made sure these provisions reach people in the community who need the support the most.

Warm Space is just one of several community-focused initiatives which don’t draw upon the football coaching and sports skills provisions the Foundation was perhaps previously known for in the past. But it allows those involved to see a different side of the community and the impact it can have on people.
