We are delighted to announce the launch of the Grimsby Town Foundations Emerging Talent Centre (ETC)for girls in 2024.
As part of the FA’s support and development of girls’ football Grimsby Town have received funding to develop young talent in our area. The FA’s vision for developing girls’ football is working towards making sure talented girls in the game have access to specialist coaching within an hour’s travel.
Grimsby has been recently nominated as the centre of excellence in our area and we will be assigning some of our top coaches in the Club to support this project.
The programme will be running for an initial 30 weeks, and it will be working alongside grassroots clubs in supporting our talented girls in the region who have previously had to travel lengthy journeys to access specialist coaching.
The project will be based at the new 4G pitches at Humberston Academy and will see our GTFC Academy coaches involved in the delivery of coaching.
It is our ambition to progress the girls’ game throughout the region and assign them a pathway which could lead onto a career in coaching or involvement in sports and our ultimate dream of progression into the WSL or even a Lioness!
