Grimsby Town Foundation are excited to announce Oasis Academy, Nunsthorpe as a new Priority Partner School coming onboard for 2025.
Grimsby Town Foundation recently launched their Priority School partnership with the local school, which included delivering assemblies and knife crime workshops in partnership with the Humber Violence Prevention Partnership.
The assemblies were delivered to each year group and were a way for the Foundation to introduce themselves to the school, what we will be delivering in their schools and what the Premier League Primary Stars values are.
The Premier League Primary Stars values are to ‘Be Ambitious’, ‘Be Connected’, ‘Be inspiring’ and ‘Be Fair’ and these are all embedded into all aspects of our delivery and pupils will be rewarded for showing growth and progress within the values in all sessions.
We also delivered knife crime workshops to the older pupils, with a focus on facts and statistics about knife crime in Humberside.
Pupils showed a high level of engagement in the session’s content and proved to be truly passionate about not allowing knife crime in their local community.
Pupils completed the session by sharing their understanding about what to do if they hear of anyone carrying a weapon, and who they can talk to both in school and out of school if they ever come across someone carrying something suspicious.
Due to start in January 2025, Coaches will be supporting pupils and staff at Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe for two days a week, embedding the Premier League Primary Stars programme of delivery and Values.
At Oasis Academy, we will be supporting activities at lunch time and delivering interventions with targeted groups in Maths, Reading and PSHE throughout the year.
We will also be working with the pupils and the teachers to help deliver high quality P.E sessions and support with school sports competitions.
Various workshops and activations will also be delivered throughout the year in line with Premier League Primary Stars deliverables.
On welcoming a new school onboard for the new year, Foundation Community Director Mike Thompson said, “At Grimsby Town Foundation, we are absolutely delighted to welcome Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe as a priority school.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, fostering their growth both on and off the pitch.”
“I would also like to acknowledge the fantastic work of Ellie Kirk and her team, whose dedication and expertise in delivering this intervention across all our schools have been instrumental in ensuring its success.
“We’re excited to see the positive impact this will have on the pupils and the wider school community.”
