Grimsby Town Foundation is pleased to announce that NEL4HEROES are returning to Blundell Park tomorrow as part of our ‘Beyond the Pitch’ mental health initiative supported by Premier League Fans Fund.
NEL4HEREOES are a peer-to-peer support group ran by HM forces-served personnel to provide support to ex-military personnel in North East Lincolnshire.
The charity promoted their work for the first time this season at our game against Doncaster Rovers in October, successfully speaking to many service personnel and handing out flyers to promote the activities they deliver in the community.
As well as attending the game against Chesterfield, they are offering a ‘Brew and Banter’ session in the Lower Bar from 11am-12pm.
This has been designed to get those who have served together in a safe space to open up if they wish, so we can support and sign post them, or simply just a space for Veterans to get together and have a banter over a brew.
On linking up with the Foundation again, NEL4HEROES Vice Chairman Marcus Ireland said, “It’s a privilege to team up with the Grimsby Town Foundation and be involved in their mental health initiative again.
“For our group to be able to talk to our veteran’s community coming through the turnstiles and showing them that there is support out there is such a valuable thing to be able to do.”
