GIRLS EMERGING TALENT CENTRE TRIALS

Grimsby Town Foundation are hosting trail events for the Girl’s Emerging Talent Centre on Monday 7th October and Monday 14th October.

The ETC was launched in January after Grimsby Town received funding to help develop young talent in our area.

The FA’s vision for developing girls’ football is working towards making sure talented girls in the game have access to specialist coaching within an hour’s travel as part of the FA’s support and development of girls’ football.

The trials will be taking place at Clee Fields in Grimsby and the following age groups/timings can be found below:

5-6PM – U12s (Y6 & Y7)
6-7PM – U16s (Y10 & Y11)
7-8PM – GKs (All ages)

ETC lead coach and Women’s First Team Head Coach, Ben Challen said, “We think that this is a great opportunity for players both within our programs such as our highly successful Premier League Kicks programmes and outside of that as well with us here at Grimsby Town Foundation wanting to support the highly talented grassroots environment in the local area.”

“We are looking at lots of different elements with these players in terms of how they interact with each other, how they communicate, how they look to use the ball in possession and how they react out of possession.

“We are pleased with how our first year went on the whole and think we have seen lots of individual player development. We are looking at different ways to further develop and improve what we deliver as part of our program for the 2nd Year of our delivery and think it will go from strength to strength.

“We are delighted to hear that some of our girls are on the FA Talent Pathway and are looking at ways to further develop all of the girls in our program.

All booking links can be accessed via the Official Soccer School website

We hope to see as many young female footballers down at the trials as possible!
