Last week, as part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme, we were delighted to deliver a Let Girls Play event at one of our priority schools, William Barcroft.
The event brought together 40 girls for an exciting morning of football, where they took part in a carousel of fun and engaging activities designed to develop a range of football techniques and skills. From dribbling and passing to shooting and teamwork challenges, each activity gave participants the chance to build their confidence, improve their abilities, and most importantly, enjoy playing the game in a supportive and inclusive environment.
We were also pleased to welcome Rubie and Milly from the Grimsby Town Foundation Scholarship girls’ team. Milly North, who also represents Grimsby Town Women’s First Team, shared her experiences and encouraged the participants throughout the event. Their involvement provided the girls with the opportunity to meet inspiring role models who have progressed within the game and demonstrated what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and a love of football.
The event was a fantastic celebration of girls’ football, encouraging participants to get active, develop new skills, and enjoy the many benefits of being involved in sport. It also highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for girls to play football, helping to inspire the next generation of players while building confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
